Palm Oil Policy for Soap Base and Contract Manufacturing
Purpose: As a contract manufacturer, we are committed to ensuring that the palm oil used in our production processes is sourced in line with the customers’ Palm Oil policy and, where possible, encourage responsible and sustainably sourced material. This policy outlines our approach to palm oil procurement, emphasizing environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and transparency.
Scope: This policy applies to all palm oil and palm oil derivatives used in the manufacturing processes for our clients.
Policy Statements:
- Sustainable Sourcing:
- Where customer’s policy is to source RSPO material, we will source 100% of our palm oil from suppliers who are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).
- We commit to purchasing palm oil that supports the RSPO program through physically segregated, mass balance, and credits
- Staff Adherence through training
- We adhere to the RSPO policy standard during manufacturing by training staff on the importance of RSPO certified products and the relevant RSPO procedure annually.
- Supplier Engagement:
- We will engage with suppliers to improve compliance with our sustainability standards and to address industry-level challenges collaboratively.
- Environmental and Social Responsibility:
- By sourcing through certified RSPO suppliers, we ensure that our palm oil sourcing practices do not harm local communities or wildlife habitats.
- Transparency:
- We adhere to the RSPO’s fixed accounting period to ensure that any Mass Balance is controlled and fully accounted for.
